For those of us watching HBO’s totally ridiculous, yet totally entertaining, soap opera, “BIG LITTLE LIES,” I just want to say 2 words:
MERYL STREEP
How can it be that this wizard of acting skills has once again squeezed a never-before-seen character out of herself? And I’m not talking about her fake teeth—or whatever the hell she’s stuck in her mouth to change her face. I’m talking about her detailed portrait of a very destructive, but not evil, mother of a very disturbed, but not evil, (dead) son.
There are many good actresses and performances in this mini series, but when Meryl comes on, she shows us the vast difference between good and genius. Once again.
